Roger Wahl, owner of Oldies “QZ 93” 93.3 WQZS Meyersdale PA, has pled guilty to charges of trying to solicit male strangers to rape his female friend facilitated through the radio station.
The Somerset Daily American reports that in court Wahl confimed the Pennsylvania State Police account that he created a fake online dating profile for a “female friend” and then sent nude photos of the woman taken without her consent years earlier using a trail camera in a bathroom. He pleaded guilty to criminal use of communication facility, a felony and the lesser graded misdemeanors of invasion of privacy, unlawful dissemination of intimate image, tampering with/fabricate physical evidence and recklessly endangering another person. Wahl will be sentenced on September 21.
Becoming a felon will make Wahl unfit to hold an FCC license. In March he filed to transfer ownership of the station to his daughter Wendy Sipple for $10. The transfer was approved by the FCC on June 1, but has yet to close.
