iHeartMedia has revealed more details regarding the launch of “Hits 100.3” WMKS High Point/Greensboro NC.
The station has dropped the Ace & TJ Show in mornings, Ryan Seacrest in middays and afternoon host Keith Allen. While mornings are to be announced, Kelly moves from 2-4pm to 10am-3pm. KHTS San Diego’s Frankie V will host afternoons and KSLZ St. Louis’ MiKeith will be heard in nights.
HeartMedia Greensboro announced today the debut of the new HITS 100.3, The Most Commercial Free Hit Music, effective immediately.
HITS 100.3 will broadcast top Pop and Hip Hop hits including songs from artists including Ariana Grande, Drake, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Post Malone. The station will also feature on-air personalities Kelly, Frankie V and MiKeith as well as commercial free weekends.
“After extensive local market research, we found that there is truly a lane for HITS 100.3, home of commercial free weekends,” said Zac Davis, Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Greensboro. “There is an audience hungry for this type of station and it wasn’t being served. We look forward to entertaining our active audience with Kelly in middays, Frankie V in afternoons and MiKeith in nights.”
“HITS 100.3 rounds out our heritage line up of brands,” said Kellie Holeman, Market President of iHeartMedia Greensboro. “It gives us the opportunity to provide the listeners in the Triad the music they want to hear with fewer commercials.”
Full Programming Lineup:

Update 11/2: At noon today, iHeartMedia relaunched CHR “100.3 Kiss-FM” WMKS High Point/Greensboro NC as “Hits 100.3“.
The change comes with a more pronounced Rhythmic lean to its music with the first three songs consisting of Jack Harlow “What’s Poppin”, 24KGoldn ft. Iann Dior “Mood” and Dua Lipa ft. DaBaby “Levitating”.
The staton took shots at Dick Broadcasting CHR 107.5 WKZL and Entercom Hip Hop “102 Jamz” WJMH in its build-up claiming that their market research said that listeners only liked one out of every four songs on WJMH and that WKZL played too many commercials.
WMKS is promoting that it will run commercial free on the weekends.
Original Report 10/29: iHeartMedia CHR “100.3 Kiss-FM” WMKS High Point/Greensboro NC is promoting a relaunch for Monday, November 2 at 12pm.
The station is currently running its regular CHR format with sweepers promoting “a new 100.3” and “listening to you and making 100.3 better”. The move follows the addition of veteran CHR programmer Zac Davis as SVP/Programming for iHeartMedia Greensboro in August.
WMKS fell to 1.9 share in the October Nielsen Audio ratings released today, while Dick Broadcasting CHR 107.5 WKZL holds a 4.9 share. We reported last month on a domain registration possibly pointing to use for a rebranding at WMKS.
