Entercom Sports “106.7 The Fan” WJFK Manassas VA/Washington DC has fired afternoon host Chad Dukes over “racist and other inappropriate comments” made on his personal podcast.
Morning host JP Flaim made the announcement at the start of their show today stating, “Chad Dukes is no longer with 106.7 The Fan. Our company recently learned of inappropriate comments that he made in past episodes of his personal podcast and our company has zero tolerance for any forms of hateful speech, so our focus, the Junkies, remains on sports and doing the best show we can. With that said, I don’t think we’re saying anything further on it.”
The Washington Post reports that it was “unclear what specific comments led to Dukes’s dismissal, when he made the comments or how his bosses learned of their existence.”
Dukes began his career co-hosting nights on Alternative 99.1 WHFS Annapolis MD with Oscar ‘Big O’ Santana. “Big O & Dukes” would go on to host at CBS Radio’s 105.7 WHFS Baltimore, 101.5 KZON Phoenix and 106.7 WJFK under their Hot Talk formats. When WJFK flipped to Sports in 2009, Dukes first co-hosted afternoons with former Washington linebacker LeVar Arrington before taking over as host of “Chad Dukes vs. The World” in 2014.
WJFK is losing weight before the holidays.
