Ahead of the sale of “Hip Hop 103.9” WPHI-FM Jenkintown/Philadelphia to Entercom, Radio One has moved its Hip Hop format to what had been Adult R&B “100.3 RNB” WRNB Media.
At 10am today the stations began simulcasting as “100.3 R&B & Hip Hop” while absorbing the lineup and airstaff that had been on WPHI-FM. The two stations will simulcast until 103.9 flips to a simulcast of Entercom News 1060 KYW on Monday, November 23.
Radio One has constantly shifted formats among its Philadelphia properties. The Hip Hop format had been heard on 100.3 as “The Beat” from 2005 to 2011. The Adult R&B format that had been on WRNB until today is now heard on WRNB-HD2.
