Less than two months after flipping to CHR, Waterloo Media’s “93.3 Austin” KGSR Cedar Park/Austin has moved back to Hot AC.
Last week KGSR cut most of the Hip Hop in their playlist and their emphasis on new music. Top current spins were dropped from over 110 to the low 70s and gold tracks from the 90s and 2000s have been added.
The move marks the third format adjustment for the station in 2020. While still branded as “Star 93.3“, KGSR moved from Soft AC to Hot AC on Valentine’s Day and then the move to CHR came on September 18.
No changes to the station’s on-air lineup accompanied the most recent musical shift. KGSR still carries the syndicated Brooke & Jeffrey in mornings, Program Director Jay Michaels and Bailey in middays, Imari Mora in afternoons and Robbie in evenings.
KGSR registered a 1.0 share in its first full monthly with the CHR format. The format tweak moves its target from iHeartMedia CHR “96.7 Kiss-FM” KHFI to Entercom Hot AC “Mix 94.7” KAMX.
