A pair of format changes have brought Classical music to FM on a 24/7 basis in Des Moines and Wilmington, NC.
Davis Media, which announced the acquisition of Sea-Comm Media’s cluster in Wilmington, NC last week wastes no time making its first move as it flips 1180 WSFM and its translator at 95.9 W240AS from Regional Mexican to Classical as “Bach FM“. Davis operates a second “Bach FM” in Williamsburg, VA on 107.9 WBQK.
In Des Moines, Iowa Public Radio has returned the former 105.9 KZHC and 96.3 KZHC to the air. Now operating under the calls KICP and KICL respectively, the stations join Iowa Public Radio’s growing Classical service. Northpine.com reports that the addition of 105.9/96.3 will allow its flagship 90.1 WOI-FM to increase the amount of News or Adult Alternative programs it carries.
