Lee Family Broadcasting has closed on its purchase of Hot AC “Mix 103” 102.9 KMVX and Classic Country 1400 KART from Southern Idaho Broadcasting and is preparing a format change at the FM.
The Twin-Falls Times News reports that KMVX will flip to Sports “ESPN 102.9 The Zone” on May 24. The report incorrectly identifies KVNO as the calls for the new station. Those calls belong to the University of Nebraska’s Classical outlet in Omaha. The new calls for KMVX will be KZNO, which was requested back on March 16.
The Zone has hired College of Southern Idaho voice Jonathan Drew as Sports Director and afternoon host. The station will becoming the local affiliate for the school’s sports play-by-play and is pursuing an affiliation with the NBA’s Utah Jazz radio network.
Between now and the 24th, Mix will be directing listeners to new sister Hot AC “Hot 100” 99.9 KZDX.
