Original Report 3/22: Apex Broadcasting is preparing to relaunch the Urban “Box” brand in Charleston, SC.
The brand previously ran on then 92.5 WIHB from March 2010 until May 2011 when the station flipped to Country “Kickin 92.5” WCKN.
The format will soon reappear on 1390 WSPO/95.9 WMXZ-HD2/99.3 W257BQ in place of Spanish Tropical “Ritmo Caliente“. 993TheBox.com was registered by an Apex associate on Thursday. The Facebook page of “Ritmo Caliente” features a farewell message to its listeners.
DJ’s Hollywood & Troy have posted on their Facebook page that the Box will redebut on 99.3 on Thursday, March 28. The duo will be hosting on weekends starting April 6.
Apex Broadcasting also owns Country “Kickin 92.5” WCKN, Hot AC “Mix 95.9” WMXZ, Urban AC “Star 99.7” WXST, and Variety Hits “101.7 Chuck-FM” WAVF in the Charleston market.
