Update 8/2: In the FCC filing of its purchase of WSSJ, L&L states that it will divest Classic Hits “103.1 The Drive” WGZO Parris Island, SC to fit WSSJ within the ownership cap for the market. No buyer has been revealed yet, but L&L states it plans to file the sale shortly.
Original Report 7/23: L&L Broadcasting has acquired Gospel “Joy 100.1” WSSJ Rincon/Savannah, GA out of bankruptcy receivership.
The $1.55 Million purchase comes just days after receiver Scott Savage sold WSSJ’s sister, 92.3 WSGA to EMF Broadcasting for $525,000.
WSSJ will join L&L Broadcasting’s existing six station cluster in Savannah. The company already owns Classic Hits “Big 98.3” WGCO, Classic Hits “103.1 The Drive” WGZO, “Rock 106.1” WFXH, Country “Bob 106.9” WUBB, Adult CHR “Y107.9” WXYY, and Soft AC “1130 The Island” WHHW/93.5 W228CI in the market.
WSSJ is a Class C2 operating with 50kW at 150 meters.
