Federated Media’s Talking Stick Communications has announced it has sold Sports “ESPN 95.7” WAOR Nappanee/South Bend to St. Joseph Catholic Radio Group for $925,000.
WAOR had just picked up the ESPN Radio affiliation on April 1. St. Joseph Catholic Radio operates “Redeemer Radio” 1450 WLYV Fort Wayne/89.9 WRRO Edon, OH. WLYV’s programming will move to 106.3 WHPP Columbia City next month as part of the series of acquisitions and swaps made by Adams Radio Group’s entrance into the Fort Wayne market.
Following the sale of WAOR, Federated Media will retain 1290 WNIL Niles, MI, News/Talk “95.3 MNC” 1340 WTRC Elkhart/95.3 WTRC-FM Niles, MI, Country “B100” 100.7 WBYT Elkhart, and Rock “103.9 The Bear” WRBR South Bend in the market.
Another shoe has to be dropping. It would be insane for FedMed to literally walk away from a contract with ESPN Radio that just took effect a month ago.
I wouldn’t be shocked to see the “MNC” talk simulcast broken up, with WTRC-FM becoming “ESPN 95.3” and the talk format solely on the AM dial.
