Union Broadcasting has closed on its acquisition of 93.9 WLCL Sellersburg/Louisville from Cumulus and will launch its new programming brand as “93.9 The Ville” on Thursday, January 29.
The new Sports station will complement sister “ESPN 680/105.7” 680 WHBE Newburg/105.7 WHBE-FM Eminence with a mix of national programming and local hosts focusing on the University of Louisville Cardinals. Current WHBE morning host Drew Deener will move over to the FM in his existing 7-10am slot. John Ramsey will move from 10am-12pm on WHBE to afternoons on 93.9.
The “93.9 The Ville” lineup will also include ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd from 10am-1pm, Scott Van Pelt & Ryen Russillo from 1-3pm and PBP coverage of Louisville women’s basketball and baseball.
“ESPN 680” will carry ESPN’s Mike & Mike in the morning, a new 10am-12pm show to be announced, Bob Valvano from 12-3pm, Jason Anderson 3-6pm and ESPN Radio programming nights and weekends.
