KXRV Becomes “MyCountry 105.7″

MyCountry 105.7 KXRV

As we hinted at on October 14, Clear Channel AAA KXRV “River 105.7″ has indeed become “My Country 105.7” at midnight Mountain Time segueing from David Bowie’s “Changes” into Sara Evans’ “Born to Fly”. We should note that Clear Channel already has Hot AC KJMY in the market using the “My 99.5” branding. Will be interesting to see if the stations are promoted as a combo.

OK, don’t know how I missed the news that this was going to happen, but I’m SO disappointed. This morning I thought something was wrong with my stereo when I couldn’t find The River where it always is. All I was getting was country music, which I really can’t stand. If I did like it, I would listen to one of the many country stations we already have in the Salt Lake Valley. I just took 105.7 off my presets, I won’t be listening, anymore.

My thoughts EXACTLY. While i sometimes got tired of too-much Tracy Chapman, and The Police, I had really enjoyed The River’s format. Now - ugh. If there isn’t a similar format around SLC anymore, I guess it’s back to mix CD’s!

Got something to say?
