All indications point to iHeart flipping KDGE to a form of AC (perhaps following a Christmas Music run) to fill the opening created by CBS' 103.7 KVIL's evolution from AC to Hot AC to CHR over the past year. On Monday anonymous registrations were made for 1021TheBreeze.com (and a 971TheBreeze.com decoy for KEGL) which would match the branding for iHeart's most recent major market Soft AC launch of "98.1 The Breeze" KISQ San Francisco this past April. That was followed yesterday by a direct registration by iHeart for Star1021Online.com, which is currently redirecting to the site for KPRR El Paso. While brand confusion with sister Classic Rock "Lone Star 92.5" KZPS is no longer a major concern in PPM markets, it could mean that domain is targeted for another market. A flip to AC or Soft AC would give iHeart a "Wall Of Women" with CHR "106.1 Kiss-FM" KHKS and Hot AC "102.9 Now" KDMX and knock CBS Classic Hits 98.7 KLUV down in demos and from its 6+ tie with KHKS for the market lead.
