Update 9/27/10: After a one hour stunt as “Speedy 105” playing snippets of country songs, KOMG debuted as “105.1 Bob-FM” at 8am.
Update 9/25/10: We can confirm that 105.1 KOMG will become Country “105.1 Bob-FM” on Monday at 8am. Based on the usage of the Bob logo discovered on the station’s webserver it appears the station will featured a broad Country playlist like most Variety Hits stations licensed to use the Bob moniker.
Original Report 9/13/10: Midwest Family Broadcasting has swapped a pair of its stations in Springfield, MO. Classic Hits “Star 105.1” KOSP has moved to 92.9 displacing Classic Country “Bass Country” KOMG. The stations are currently simulcasting, while hyping “Something BIG coming to 105.1” on Monday, 9/27 at 8am. The call letters have already swapped places with 92.9 now KOSP and 105.1 KOMG.
As we tweeted on August 18, Midwest Family had registered 1051Bob.com, 1051Bob.fm and 1051BobFM.com. It awaits to be seen if that will be what appears on 105.1 on the 27th.
