TSJ Media has brought its Spanish CHR “Mega” programming to a fourth midwestern market.
TSJ has launched “Mega 1310” WDTW Dearborn/Detroit in partnership with station owner Pedro Zamora to join their stations utilizing that brand in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus. Zamora purchased WDTW from MMTC Broadcasting for $100,000 in August 2014 after Clear Channel donated the license after dismantling the station’s six towers in 2012.
Crains Detroit reports that Zamora and TSJ are currently operating the station out of TSJ’s Columbus offices but plan to hire 10-15 staffers in Detroit after spending nearly $1 million rebuilding the station’s non-existent facilities . WDTW will also pursue adding Spanish language broadcasts of the Detroit Lions and Tigers.
