CBS Radio Chicago has promoted Todd Cavanah to VP/Programming for their cluster.
Cavanah has worked at CHR “B96” 96.3 WBBM-FM since 1990 and has programmed the station since 1993. His new position will add oversight of the cluster’s AAA 93.1 WXRT, Country “US 99.5” WUSN, Classic Hits “104.3 K-Hits” WJMK, Sports “670 The Score” WSCR and News 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS.
Todd Cavanah has been named Vice President of programming for CBS RADIO Chicago as announced by Tim Pohlman, Senior Vice President and Market Manager. In this new role, Cavanah will work closely with the market’s six brands including WBBM-FM (Top 40), WJMK-FM (Classic Hits), WUSN-FM (Country), WXRT-FM (Adult Alternative), WBBM-AM/WCFS-FM (News), and WSCR-AM (Sports).
“With nearly 30 years of programming experience, Todd will be a strong and capable leader in this newly created position for CBS RADIO Chicago,” said Pohlman. “I am excited to see him lend his programming expertise and knowledge across all of our iconic brands.”
Cavanah, a 30 year radio programming veteran, most recently has worked locally in Chicago at WBBM-FM, where he began as an on-air personality in 1990, before being promoted as the station’s Program Director in 1993. Cavanah has also been instrumental in launching two of the marquee concerts in the Chicago market: B96 Pepsi Summer Bash and B96 Pepsi Jingle Bash. Since 2011, he has also held a dual position as Program Director of WJMK-FM. Before arriving in Chicago, Cavanah spent four years as a local promotion representative at Elektra Records in Denver before working in the programming department at KRXY-FM.
