Scott ‘Lugnut’ Dwyer is exiting his PD/Afternoon Host position at Alpha Media Rhythmic CHR “U92.7” KKUU Palm Springs CA to join Ohana Media Group Rhythmic CHR 92.9 KFAT Anchorage AK as PD/Morning Co-host.
The Anchorage native joined KKUU in 2013 from mornings at “Hot 107.9” WPFM Panama City FL. He has previously programmed 107.1 WGMY Tallahassee, “96.3 Jamz” WAJZ Albany NY, and 97.7 KWIN/98.3 KWNN Modesto CA. He will replace Brad Erickson as morning co-host at KFAT. Erickson will depart mornings on June 9th and take time off to focus on his own live events business.
Mike Lajoie will remain in mornings with Dwyer.
Ohana Media Group, LLC’s KFAT Anchorage announces the appointment of Scott “Lugnut” Dwyer as the new program director. Dwyer, currently the program director at KKUU-FM, Palm Springs, will begin his new duties June 27th.
In making the announcement, VP/GM Tom Oakes commented “Scott has been on my radar for a few years now and as we searched for a new programmer to spearhead KFAT’s efforts, the galaxy aligned itself. Scott brings us the fresh perspective we’re looking for to help keep KFAT on top of the Anchorage market. The added bonus is we won’t have to teach him any of the unique Alaskan names and words…he’s a born & bred Alaskan so it’s not only a ‘welcome to your new job’ but also a huge welcome home. We are very excited to have Scott on board and join the team.”
Dwyer commented “I’m beyond thrilled to return to my hometown to join OMG. I’m looking forward to working with Tom and the talented staff, to ensure the continued success of KFAT.”
KFAT also announces the departure of KFAT morning host Brad Erickson. Tom Oakes commented “After nearly ten years of leading the “KFAT Morning Chaos’ Brad has decided to shake things up in his life and it starts with the retirement of his alarm clock. He’s been talking with me about this for a while and he’s decided this is the right time to make his move. Over the years Brad has developed a successful and growing events & concert company ‘Erickson Events’ which he’ll take time to grow further. Brad’s been an important part of KFAT’s growth over the years. After he takes the summer off, we’ll be talking further on a possible new role for Brad here at Ohana.” Erickson’s last day on the air will be June 9th.
Upon his arrival, in addition his programming duties, Scott Dwyer will take over as host of the “KFAT Morning Chaos” joining Mike Lajoie who continues in his co-host role on the show.
