Cumulus Alternative “X105.1” KCJK Kansas City has hired its first on-air staffer.
Matt Malone, most recently with the now defunct “New Rock 107.3” KURQ San Luis Obispo will serve as Assistant Program Director and Afternoon Host at KCJK. It is a return to Cumulus for Malone, who interned and later served as a Producer and Programming Assistant at Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago.
Cumulus Media announces that it has appointed programming professional and on-air talent Matt Malone as Assistant Program Director and Monday-Friday 3PM-7PM Afternoon Drive Host for Kansas City’s Alternative station X105.1/KCJK-FM. The appointment is effective immediately.
Malone joins X105.1 from KURQ-FM in San Luis Obispo, CA, where he was Assistant Program Director and On-Air Personality. Prior to that, he was based in Chicago as Corporate Programming Assistant for Cumulus Media, and was Assistant Program Director for WLS-FM. Malone was also on-air at WLUM-FM/FM 102.1 in Milwaukee. He holds a B.A. degree in Radio Broadcasting from Columbia College in Chicago.
