Rich Dickerson is retiring after 25 years hosting “The Love Doctors” at iHeartMedia Hot Talk “Real Radio 94.3” WZZR Riviera Beach/West Palm Beach & 101.7 WCZR Vero Beach FL.
Dickerson began the show on what was then Hot AC “Z93” 92.7 WZZR in 1991 after hosting a similar show with that name on 98.7 WKGR. The show and format moved to the 94.3/101.7 simulcast in December 2002. His final show will be Friday, December 16. Following Dickerson’s retirement co-hosts Dr. Glenn Curtis and Lea Maresca and producer Dano Russo will continue the show.
Dickerson is also credited for helping to launch The Kiss Army fan club while programming 100.7 WVTS Terre Haute IN in 1975.
iHeartMedia West Palm Beach announced today that noted radio personality Rich Dickerson will retire from The Love Doctors on December 16, 2016. The Love Doctors airs weekday afternoons on WZZR-FM Real Radio 94.3, Real Talk for the Palm Beaches.
Dickerson launched The Love Doctors in August 1991 on WZZR-FM after hosting an earlier incarnation of the show on iHeartMedia rock station WKGR-FM. He is also the co-founder of The Love Doctors Charities, which has raised more than $2.2 million for a variety of local causes including Florida Diabetes Camp, the Challenger School playground and victims of the 2004 hurricanes. The organization also held annual toy drives to benefit West Palm Beach area children for more than 20 years.The Love Doctors team will celebrate Dickerson’s career during his final month on-air with special guests, show highlights and listener surprises. After December 16, current The Love Doctors co-hosts Dr. Glenn Curtis, Dano and Lea will continue hosting the weekday afternoon program.
