As first reported by Time Out Chicago’s Robert Feder Bonneville International has sold its stations in Chicago and three other markets to Hubbard Broadcasting for $505 Million.
The stations involved in the deal are as follows:
Chicago: Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV and its simulcast 96.9 WWDV Zion, IL, Classic Hits “Rewind 100.3” WILV, and Hot AC “101.9 The Mix” WTMX.
Cincinnati: Classic Hits “Rewind 94.9” WREW, Country “97.3 The Wolf” WYGY, Hot AC “Q102” 101.9 WKRQ, and Country “B105” WUBE.
St. Louis: Country 92.3 WIL, Sports “101.1 ESPN” WXOS, and Variety Hits “106.5 The Arch” WARH.
Washington, DC: News 103.5 WTOP Washington and simulcasters 103.9 WTLP-FM Braddock Heights, MD and 107.7 WWWT-FM Manassas, VA, “Federal News Radio” 1500 WFED and 820 WWFD Frederick, MD, and Regional Mexican “La Mera Mera” 1050 WBQH Silver Spring, MD.
Hubbard Broadcasting owns “ESPN Radio 1500” KSTP, Hot AC “KS95” 94.5 KSTP-FM, and Talk “My Talk 107.1” KTMY in the Minneapolis/St-Paul market along with Television stations in Minneapolis, Duluth, and Hibbing, MN Albuquerque, Albany and Rochester, NY.
Current Bonneville CEO Bruce Reese, COO Drew Horowitz, and VP/Programming Greg Solk will also join Hubbard in similar roles. Bonneville retains its stations in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and Seattle.
Could Hubbard turn-in the license for WFED-1500 Washington if it would allow KSTP Minneapolis/St. Paul (also on 1500) to go non-directional at night??
