Cox Media Rhythmic CHR “Hot 100.9” WHTI Richmond hit the reset button at midnight.
Taking a page out of sister “Hot 101.5” WPOI Tampa’s playbook, WHTI has shifted from Rhythmic to Mainstream CHR, launching an all out attack on Clear Channel’s “Q94” WRVQ, attacking the station for too much talk in the morning, Elvis Duran’s age and amount of commercials. WHTI dropped from a 3.0 share in the Summer to a station low 1.8 in the Fall book released. The former format was positioned between Q94 and the pair of Urban’s in the market: Clear Channel’s “106.5 The Beat” WBTJ and Radio-One’s “iPower 92.1” WCDX.
