The translator application will cover much of greater Atlanta with 250 watts at 951 feet being fed via an HD subchannel of 94.1 WSTR. This could potentially give Sports “790 The Zone” WQXI Atlanta an FM signal.
Clear Channel will be gaining an additional signal in San Antonio. Carlos Lopez’ 105.7 K289BN Pleasanton, TX has been granted a CP to relocate to downtown San Antonio from the tower of Clear Channel’s 101.9 KQXT. It will operate with 145 watts with coverage of downtown San Antonio. Considering the application was prepared by Clear Channel’s engineers it likely will be programmed by the company.
Calvary Chapel of Kansas City’s “93.7 The Fountain” K229AU Lee’s Summit, MO has competed its move to 107.9. The translator operates with 50 watts at 1151 feet. The translator is fed by Cumulus’ KCFX-HD3.
Mel Wheeler Inc. has agreed to purchase 97.3 W247AD Vinton, VA from Centennial Broadcasting for $75K. Upon closure the translator will rebroadcast a subchannel of 92.3 WXLK. Concurrently it has applied to move to the tower site of sister 107.3 W297BC where it will jump from 10 to 99 watts.
Sound Of Life’s 94.9 W235AY Troy, NY has applied to move to the opposite side of the Albany, NY market. The translator would relocate to Townsquare Media’s 107.7 WGNA tower and be fed with Sound Of Life’s programming via WGNY-HD3. The move would require the FCC to grant interference waivers for the signal towards 94.5 WYKV Ravena and 95.5 WYJB Albany.
Americom’s 104.9 K285EQ Verdi, NV has applied to move into Reno proper with a boost from 24 to 240 watts. Sister 103.7 KODS will be the originating station.
EMF’s 92.3 W222BA Karns, TN has applied to upgrade from 10 to 180 watts where it will rebroadcast Tennesee Media Associates’ Christian Talk “Joy 620” WRJZ Knoxville.
