Cumulus’ Soft Oldies “Love 105” trimulcast in the Twin Cities revamped its music today to Mainstream AC.
The Minneapolis/St. Paul market has been without a Mainstream AC since CBS’ 102.9 WLTE flipped to Country on Christmas Day. Since that time Love 105 has jumped from a 2.1 in the Holiday PPM monthly to a 3.1 in February.
The Love 105 trimulcast is made up of 105.1 WGVX Lakeville, MN which serves the southern suburbs, 105.3 WGVY Cambridge north of the cities, and 105.7 WGVZ Eden Prairie which broadcasts from the IDS Center in Minneapolis proper. The three stations have operated as a trio since 1996.
We had been following Cumulus’ registration of AllNews1057.com for these stations. While we’re not ruling out the possibility that this is a decoy shift to throw off the competition before the real flip, that is a lot to expect.
I suspect the “Love” stations will indeed stick with mainstream AC.
