CBS Sports Radio has hired author John Feinstein and KNBR San Francisco’s (and former NBA player) Tom Tolbert as contributors. The pair join Boomer Esiason and Doug Gottlieb as those with roles on the network. For now all four will contribute 60 second commentaries that will air hourly between 6am and 7pm beginning September 4.
Yahoo! Sports Radio has named the team of Doug Russell and Mark Carman for their 4-8pm afternoon slot starting Monday, August 27. Russell had been hosting 8-10pm on the network. Carman previously was a host/reporter for KCSP Kansas City and WGN Chicago.
NBC’s Football Night in America analyst Rodney Harrison will host a weekend show for NBC Sports Radio. The former San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots Safety will anchor “Safety Blitz with Rodney Harrison” as a 2 hour long weekly show focusing on the NFL starting Saturday, September 8. Harrison will also appear as a guest analyst on daily NBC Sports Radio programming.
Entercom’s “95.7 The Game” KGMZ San Francisco is revising its on-air lineup. John Lund’s “Wheelhouse” will move from 10am-2pm to 12pm-3pm where he will be joined by Oakland Raiders play-by-play man Greg Papa. Chris Townsend, who had been hosting 6-10pm, moves to 10am-12pm where he will be joined by Matt Steinmatz, currently Golden State Warriors reporter for The Game and Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area. Townsend will continue in his role of pre-game show host for Oakland Athletics baseball coverage on KGMZ. The afternoon “Drive” show with Brandon Tierney will slide back an hour from 2-6pm to 3-7pm. Tierney will soon be joined by a co-host to be named later following the departure of Eric Davis to the NFL Network.
