Original Report 8/29: Crawford Broadcasting has announced the purchase of 970 WNED Buffalo from Western New York Public Broadcasting for $875,000.
The 970 signal has been redundant for WNYPB since they acquired 88.7 WBFO from the University of Buffalo earlier this year and merged the programming of “News 970” with 88.7. WNYPB will continue to own and operate 88.7 WBFO and Classical 94.5 WNED-FM in Buffalo.
Crawford will add 970 to its Christian Talk “Life 99.5” WDCX-FM in the market. The company owns 23 stations nationwide, most of which feature some form of Christian programming.
