Update 12/26: “KZ 104.3” made its debut at 12am today with its 80s/90s Hits format.
The first three songs on the station were Madonna – Vouge, J. Geils Band – Freeze Frame, and Real McCoy – Another Night.
In addition to the previously announced Doug & Mary morning show, the rest of the station lineup will include Ty Collins in middays, Dayton Kane in afternoons, and Clear Channel’s syndicated Mario Lopez at night.
Update 12/17: KZ1043.com has gone live redirecting to the new format’s Facebook page. The new format will be all 80s and 90s pop with core artists included on the page as Jon Bon Jovi, George Michael, Madonna, New Kids On The Block, and Vanilla Ice. The new format will debut on December 26.
Mornings on the station will be held by Doug Erickson and Mary Love, who will move over from sister CHR “95.9 Kiss-FM” WKSZ.
Update 11/14: WCHK-FM has changed call letters to WKZG, a perfect fit for the expected “KZ 104.3” brand we expect the station to take after the holidays.
Original Report 11/1:
Woodward Communications has dropped the Variety Hits format of “104.3 Chuck-FM” WCHK-FM Appleton/103.5 W278AU Green Bay in favor of Christmas music.
Don’t expect Chuck to return after the holidays. The station’s website and social media accounts have been wiped from existence. KZ1043.com was registered by Woodward for the station in July.
