Great Eastern Radio continues the realignment of its Vermont and New Hampshire properties as it prepares to close on the acquisition of its share of the Nassau Broadcasting divestiture.
Rock “Maxx 93.9” WMXR Woodstock VT dropped its format this morning for Classic Hits “Kool 93.9/96.3“. The 96.3 refers to WFYX Walpole NH. That station will shift from a simulcast of Nassau’s “Oldies 104.3” WWOD Hartford VT to WMXR on Saturday, December 1 following the closure of the sale.
WMXR will retain the regionally syndicated Greg & The Morning Buzz based at Clear Channel’s WGIR-FM Manchester in mornings. Justin Tyler will host middays with Jim Bosh in afternoon drive.
The new “Kool” will basically be replacing WWOD as the Classic Hits station in the Upper Connecticut Valley. Following the closure of the Nassau sale, Northeast Radio Watch reports that the 104.3 allocation will begin its move west to Keeseville NY where it will rimshot Burlington VT and Plattsburgh NY under the ownership of William and Gail Goddard’s Electromagnetic Company.
