Earls Family Broadcasting is changing-up the programming at all three of its FMs serving Branson, MO.
First up, the company is consolidating the Country music programming heard on 106.3 KRZK Branson and 102.9 KHOZ-FM Harrison, AR on the 102.9 signal, which rebrands as “102.9 The Z” KHBZ.
That opens up 106.3 KRZK to flip to News/Talk. The station will feature six hours of local programming daily along with the syndicated Dennis Miller and Dave Ramsey in the daytime lineup.
The final change will take place on December 26, as Adult Standards 100.1 KOMC-FM will shift to AC. The current “Timeless Favorites” format featuring music from the 50’s through the 90’s will give way to a more current 80’s to now mix.
The press release with more details follows:
Changes at Earls Family Broadcasting
Tune In the Fresh and Updated, 102.9 The Z!
As the saying goes, the only constant is change. We want you to be aware of some exciting improvements and enhancements at Earl’s Family Broadcasting.
Our 100,000 watt mega station at 102.9 is now The Z, and not just for Harrison and northwest Arkansas but for the whole Ozarks region. Expect more, great country music from the 80s, 90s and today as well as tons of fun! Live, on-air personalities now include our new on-air boss, Steve “Shotgun” Kelly from 10am to 3pm. Matt Duncan will move his show from KRZK to The Z, still covering the drive home with energy and enthusiasm, from 3pm to 7pm, Monday through Friday.
Our goal is for 102.9 The Z to be the “just right” combination – a better mix of country music along with community service, regional news, and plenty of listener involvement. Great personalities live on-air, all day long, will keep listeners engaged and entertained. Tune in to the all new 102.9 The Z, now KHBZ, and tell us what you think of the improvements.

For Music Variety with a Contemporary Beat – Tune in to KOMC-FM at 100.1
Beginning December 26th, KOMC-FM will feature a more current variety of music, and lots more of it. Popular music from the
80’s, 90’s and today is a proven favorite of adults, especially women, and KOMC-FM will deliver with artists like Adele, JohnMayer, Michael Buble and Elton John. This more youthful blend of up-tempo music will be complimented by great local programming as well as national favorites like “Intelligence for Your Life” with John Tesh from 2pm to 7pm.
Whether you’ve loved KOMC for years or have never been a regular listener, you’re sure to enjoy the positive, upbeat and multi-generational appeal of this bright adult contemporary format. It will be the station that keeps your spirits up at work and in the car, as well as a welcome companion on a Saturday morning at home. After the holiday crazes are done this year, dial up 100.1 for a harmonious start to your new year.
We constantly “challenge” our advertisers to get out the box and make changes to “super-serve” their customers. We believe the enhancements we’re making are bold and innovative, out of the box but soundly based in our knowledge and experience in this region. With these station improvements, more listeners will find more music and information they want and need. And when we can entertain more listeners more often, we can generate better results for our advertisers too!
Please share with us your ideas about how we can best serve to you in 2013.
