After 18 years in afternoon drive and 27 years at the station, Glenn Ordway has been let go from Entercom Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM Boston.
Ordway joined the station in 1987 when then 590 WEEI was bought by the Boston Celtics and became its flagship station. He last through the station’s move to 850 and later 93.7 and served as Program Director for a time in the 1990’s.
WEEI has struggled in the ratings in recent months as CBS’ “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM has surpassed it in most dayparts and demographics.
The Boston Globe reports that Mike Salk, co-host at Bonneville’s “ESPN 710” KIRO Seattle will join WEEI to replace Ordway as co-host of “The Big Show” with Michael Holley. Salk previously worked in Boston at 890 WBPS when it was the local ESPN Radio affiliate in the market.
WEEI’s programming is also heard on a nine station network throughout New England.
