Update 2/26: Good Karma Broadcasting is paying $2.4 Million to acquire WUUB.
Original Report 2/25: CBS has found a buyer for its last remaining station in West Palm Beach.
Craig Karmazin’s Good Karma Broadcasting will begin operating what was Urban AC “B106.3” WUUB Jupiter today and flip it to a simulcast of its “ESPN 760” WEFL Tequesta.
WEFL has set an on-air announcement for 4:00 this afternoon. Meanwhile CBS has already purged the online existence of 106.3 including the station website and stream. B1063FM.com is now redirecting to CBS’ “Wild 94.1” WLLD Tampa.
In the January PPM monthly WUUB was fourth in the market with a 5.7 share.
CBS sold the remainder of their West Palm Beach cluster in 2012 as 102.3 WMBX, 103.1 WPBZ, and 107.9 WIRK along with the intellectual property and call letters of WEAT were sold to Palm Beach Broadcasting for $50 Million triggering a frequency shuffle while 104.3 went to Lincoln Financial Media for $13 Million and is awaiting FCC approval to move into the Miami market.
With the demise of “B106.3“, former sister station “X102.3” WMBX is broadening its playlist to add more R&B artists to its Hip-Hop format.
