Maverick Media has agreed to sell its Santa Rosa, CA stations to a local group headed by Lawrence Amaturo for $4.5 Million.
The new Sonoma Media Group will acquire News/Talk 1350 KSRO, Country “Froggy 92.9” KFGY/103.1 K276DT, Classic Rock “97.7 The River” KVRV, CHR “Hot 101.7” KHTH, and Hot AC “Mix 104.9” KMHX. The Amaturo family previously owned some of the current Maverick Media cluster from 1996 to 2000 when they sold the stations for $30 Million. The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat reports that Sonoma Media Group will begin operating the stations in May.
Lawrence Amaturo currently operates two automotive dealerships and a web design company in Santa Rosa. He was a minority owner in his father Joseph’s “Amaturo Group” that sold the “Playlist 92.7” trimulcast around Los Angeles to EMF Broadcasting in December for $8,788,500.
Maverick Media announced the sale of its Lima, OH stations to Matthew Childers in late March and retains clusters in Eau Claire, WI and Rockford, IL.
