Beasley Sports “770 ESPN” WWCN North Fort Myers, FL will shift to the FM band on Thursday, June 20.
The station will become “99.3 ESPN” displacing Active Rock “99X” WJBX. WWCN is currently heard on four translators to cover the Fort Myers/Naples market, but with some signal holes that the move will rectify. WWCN’s lineup currently consists of the national ESPN Radio lineup along with local afternoon show “Miller & Moulton” from 2-6pm.
Concurrently, the Rock format of “99X” will merge with sister Hot Talk “96 K-Rock” WRXK Bonita Springs starting Monday, June 17 at 10:00am. WRKX will retain syndicated morning host Bubba The Love Sponge and afternoon hosts Stan & Haney while shifting to music. The station will be dropping local midday hosts Zito & Garrett and syndicated Lex & Terry and Artie Lange. Current WJBX morning host DC will move to middays on WRKX.
The remainder of the WJBX airstaff, middayer Roger Marley and night host Gabbi will move to a new Alternative station that will debut next month. The new station will be dubbed “The Link“. Beasley has registered TheLinkRadio.com along with 993ESPN.com earlier this month. We’d assume this new format will go on the four translators that had been rebroadcasting WWCN.
