In a lesson on how to not feed a translator, the FCC enforcement bureau has issued a notice of violation to Elizabeth Gonzalez for her 93.7 K229BJ Hollywood Park TX. The translator is licensed to rebroadcast 92.1 KTNR Kenedy TX but was caught receiving its programming via an internet stream as opposed to KTNR over the air as its supposed to.
Armada Media has purchased a trio of translator Construction Permits from Marc A. Lehmuth for $40,000. 92.9 K225BO Colby KS will rebroadcast 101.1 KFNF Oberlin KS, 93.7 K229CE Holyoke CO will rebroadcast 92.3 KSTH, and 106.1 K291BW North Platte NE will be used to simulcast News/Talk 1240 KODY.
Clear Channel and Radio Assist Ministry are swapping a pair of translators CP’s. Clear Channel will receive the CP for 94.7 W234BW Parkersburg WV, while RAM receives the Construction Permit for 95.7 K239BR Pocatello ID.
A pair of translators are attempting to move to Birmingham where they would be licensed to rebroadcast Summit Media’s Gospel “Heaven 610” WAGG. Comtek LLC’s 99.3 W257CM Talladega already owns a CP to relocate to 99.1 as W256CD and now seeks to move to Fultondale where it would operate with 250 watts from the tower used or proposed to be used by six other translators including 102.1 W270BW and 107.3 W297BF already operated by Summit Media. Also seeking to move there is Way Media’s 98.1 W251BG Centerville, which will change its COL to Tarrant and also looks to rebroadcast WAGG in its license.
1400 Inc. is donating five translators to Minnesota Public Radio. 95.3 K237FO, 97.3 K247BO, and 107.9 K300CJ Blue Earth MN, 98.7 W254BY Hinckley MN, and 99.3 W257CZ Houghton MI will all be used to rebroadcast other MPR services, as will 93.3 K227BX Palm Springs which goes to subsidiary Southern California Public Radio.
Separately Minnesota Public Radio has applied to upgrade 91.9 K220JP Minneapolis from 13 to 25 watts.
Following its sale to Beasley Broadcasting, 95.7 W239BC Arapahoe NC is seeking to relocate to New Bern. The translator will operate with the maximum 250 watts rebroadcasting an HD subchannel of 103.3 WMGV.
Emmis has applied to move its recently acquired 99.5 W258BA Marshall IL to Terre Haute IN. The 250 watt translator will rebroadcast Sports “1130 The Fan” WFNF.
