SiriusXM has signed the namesake of its “Mad Dog Radio” Sports channel, Christopher ‘Mad Dog’ Russo to a three year contract extension.
As part of the deal, Russo will see his role at the company changed as his Mad Dog Unleashed program will shrink from five hours daily to just three. Starting in September, the program will air daily from 3-6pm Eastern as opposed to its current 2-7pm.
Russo will also take a larger role at SiriusXM’s “MLB Network Radio” where he will serve as Baseball Ambassador, hosting shows and specials and appearing regularly as a guest. In 2014 he will begin hosting a daily show that will be simulcast on MLB Network Radio and on MLB Network TV.
Russo joined SiriusXM in August 2008 after almost twenty years co-hosting the “Mike And The Mad Dog” afternoon show on WFAN New York with Mike Francesa.
