Update 9/4: Now we know why Results Radio kept the promotional loop and now stunt going on 92.1 KMJE for as long as it has.
Results announced today that it has agreed to sell KMJE to Lotus Broadcasting for $2,230,000. Lotus owns stations in Bakersfield, Fresno, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Reno and Tucson that air a mix of English, Spanish, and brokered formats. It owns a CP for a new Sacramento AM, 890 KDPP Olivehurst that will operate with 10kW daytime and 480 watts at night.
Lotus will begin operating KMJE via LMA on Tuesday, October 1.
Original Report 9/1: After two months of running a loop redirecting listeners of the former “Classic Hits 92.1” KCCL to its new home on 101.5, Results Radio’s 92.1 KMJE Placerville/Sacramento is gearing up to debut its new format.
KMJE is now stunting with songs that have the word “Rock” in the title. A Rock based format would place the station in competition with one or more of Entercom’s three Rock oriented stations in the market: Classic Rock “96.9 The Eagle” KSEG, Active Rock “98 Rock” KRXQ, or Alternative “Radio 94.7” KKDO.
