As the FCC gets back to normal operations following the shutdown, the agency is working quickly to get through the remaining 2003 translator applications. A number of translators have been granted over the past week.
Among the new translator CP granted are:
Hope Christian Church of Marlton, NJ was granted 92.9 W225BT Glen Burnie, MD with 19 watts rebroadcasting Clear Channel’s 93.1 WPOC. Due to the closeness of the translator to WPOC, we would expect a further application for the translator. Hope also was granted 95.1 W235CE Gettysburg, PA with 7 watts rebroadcasting Clear Channel’s 94.9 WRBT Harrisburg.
Mary Medicus gained quite a few new CP’s: 100.3 W262CJ Milwaukee with 12 watts rebroadcasting 105.3 WLVE Mukwanago, 101.5 K268CK Golden, CO with 2 watts rebroadcasting 91.1 KLDV Morrison/Denver, 104.7 K284BY Masonville, CO with 10 watts rebroadcasting 88.3 KGCO Fort Collins, and 94.7 W234BY Charlotte with 10 watts rebroadcasting 94.1 WWLV Lexington. Medicus quickly turned around and sold W234BY to Curtis Media’s Eastern Airwaves for $165,000. Curtis will use the translator to rebroadcast HRN Broadcasting’s Sports “ESPN 730” WZGV Cramerton.
