Educational Media Foundation has excercised its option to purchase 94.1 WWLV Lexington, NC for $10,507,985.
EMF has been operating Davidson County Broadcasting’s WWLV with their Christian AC “KLove” since March 2010 under a network affiliation agreement. The sale price will be subtracted by $50,000 as EMF is selling its 99.9 W260BG Lexington to Davidson County. The translator is used to rebroadcast Classic Hits “Kool 1440/99.9” WLXN.
WWLV serves the Greensboro/Winston-Salem market as well as rimshotting Charlotte. The sale agreement states that there 1,914,319 people in the 60dbu coverage area of the station, with each person worth $4.55. WWLV had been intending to move to a new tower in the Charlotte market, which would’ve expanded its potential audience to 2.8 million people within the 60dbu signal. The station withdrew its bid to build a tower last month.
