FCC Update Translator Construction Permit ApplicationsCommunications attorney John Garziglia has applied to increase his CP for 97.7 W249CO Reston, VA from 73 to 250 watts. Serving Washington DC’s western suburbs, the translator is licensed to rebroadcast American University’s 88.5 WAMU.

With 100.3 WLML Lake Park/West Palm Beach close to launching, Reach Communications has filed a displacement application to relocate 100.3 W262AN Tamarac, FL to 101.1 with no facility changes. The translator simulcasts Clear Channel News/Talk 610 WIOD Miami.

Clear Channel’s recently acquired 98.7 W254AZ Belmont, NC has applied to relocate its tower into the Charlotte city limits where it will operate with 180 watts.

Clear Channel has acquired 105.1 W286BK Birmingham from Way Media for no financial compensation. Way gains the right to continue to use CC’s 99.9 KVUU-HD2 Pueblo CO to feed its translators. W286BK is already operated by Clear Channel as Gospel “Hallelujah 105.1“.

Mary Lopez’s 107.5 K298BP Austin has applied to increase its CP from 18 to 99 watts rebroadcasting 89.9 KAWZ Twin Falls, ID.

With its tabled CP close to expiring, 104.9 KWCX-FM Willcox, AZ has applied for a new location for its COL change to Tanque Verde. While its current CP would’ve given the station full market coverage of Tucson, the new application for 1kw at -190 meters will cover the northeastern corner of the market.

Idaho Wireless seeks to shift Country 93.7 KZBQ Pocatello, ID to 93.9 as a Class C0 operating with 100kW at 308.4 meters.

Montecito FM has applied to upgrade Alternative 92.9 KJEE Montecito/Santa Barbara from Class A to B1. The station would go from 820 watts at 270 meters to 3.3kW at 277 meters.

Stephens Media has applied to upgrade Christian AC 100.9 KXOJ-FM Sapulpa/Tulsa from a Class A operating with 5kW at 110 meters to a C3 with 15kW at 129 meters.

More new translator apps granted this week:

Saga Communications has been granted 97.3 W247BZ Canton, NC rebroadcasting sister 96.5 WOXL Biltmore Forest/Asheville. Saga has already applied to boost the translator from 15 to 99 watts. Saga has also gained 100.3 W262CL Brattleboro, VT with 105 watts rebroadcasting Liberal Talk 1490 WKVT Brattleboro.

Radio Assist Ministry’s 105.5 W288CU Portland, ME will rebroadcast a subchannel of Saga’s 93.1 WMGX with 19 watts.

Clear Channel gains two more translators. 101.5 W262CA Jackson, MI will rebroadcast Jackson Radio Works’ Sports 1450 WIBM with 250 watts. 97.3 W247BW Macon, GA will rebroadcast a subchannel of 100.3 WQBZ Fort Valley with 250 watts.
