Randy Miller’s Kaskaskia Broadcasting’s News/Talk 1270 WRJM Charleston, IL will go dark for good in early January.
Unless Eastern Illinois University’s football team is playing in the FCS National Championship on January 4, the station will go dark at midnight on 1/1/2014. The station’s license will be turned in and its tower site has been sold to become farm land.
Kaskaskia has sold WRJM’s translator 96.1 W241BU Charleston to Bud Walters, the owner of Cromwell Group for $20,000. Walters will use the translator to rebroadcast an HD subchannel of Cromwell’s 101.3 WMCI Neoga.
With the station preparing to sign-off, WRJM has changed its call letters back to its original WEIC for its final month on-air.
