WAMB Shifts To Bilingual CHR

1200 WAMB 99.3 Nashville Hoy Today's Radio Big Band StandardsGreat Southern Broadcasting Company’s 1200 WAMB Nashville/99.3 W257AR Donelson, TN flipped from Adult Standards to Spanglish CHR on January 1.

Nashville Scene reports that the flip comes following the death of station founder Bill Barry this past September.

The new format billed as “Today’s Radio” is programmed by Silva Entertainment via LMA with a mix of English and Spanish Pop. The station includes Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Prince Royce, Marc Anthony, and Jennifer Lopez as core artists. The now full-time format had been airing on WAMB from 6-10pm daily since June 2102 and is emphasizing that the 99.3 translator is the first FM station airing Spanish language programming in Nashville.

1200 WAMB operates with 50kW daytime and 3.8kW in critical hours. 99.3 W257AR gives the station the ability to operate around the clock with 3 watts at 92 meters
