Winchester Radio Broadcasters has relaunched 610 WXVA Winchester, VA with a Classic Hits format.
The station had been running a broad playlist of music from the 60s through now, but has now shifted its focus to just the 60s to 80s as it prepares to add an FM signal in the market. WXVA operates with 380 watts daytime and 500 watts nighttime (with an app to drop that to 130 watts). Starboard Media Foundation was granted 102.9 W275BV which will operate with 250 watts at 375.9 meters rebroadcasting WXVA and a coverage are comparable to some full powered FM’s in the market thanks to its tower height.
A little comparison: WPPZ-FM Jenkintown PA (Philadelphia) is a Class A running 270 watts from 338 meters. That’s a fine translator you got there, Lou.
