Clear Channel didn’t wait long following yesterday’s revamp of 101.9 WJHM to CHR “Amp Radio 101.9” to take advantage.
104.5 W283AN Altamonte Springs has changed from rebroadcasting News/Talk 540 WFLF to Urban “104.5 The Beat” via 104.1 WTKS-HD2. Promoting 5000 “joints” in a row, the 221 watt translator covers Orlando and its northwest suburbs.
The Beat will pick up Clear Channel’s syndicated “Breakfast Club” with DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlmagne Tha God for mornings beginning Monday, February 24. The Beat is being programmed by CHR “XL 106.7” WXXL PD Brian Mack.
The News/Talk simulcast of WFLF has been moved over 102.5 W273CA Orlando where it replaces Smooth Jazz “102.5 WLOQ“. The move to the 250 watt W273CA gives WFLF a stronger FM signal to compete with Cox’ “News 96.5” WDBO-FM. The Smooth Jazz format will remain on 107.7 WMGF-HD2 and IHeartRadio.com.
It’s about time Clear Channel finally launched Urban in Orlando. Not sure how much it covers the city, but I’m sure it’ll make some noise! They can really take off considering POWER 95.3 isn’t exactly 100% Hip-Hop.
