Update 2/25 6:15pm: 101.3 KKRG launched its new identity at 4:00pm as it flipped to Classic Hip-Hop “Yo 101.3“.
Branded as “Classic Jams”, the station is focusing mainly on Rap hits of the 90s and early 2000s. The move allows the station to flank sister Rhythmic CHR “Kiss 97.3” KKSS.
Update 2/25 5:00pm: After four plus days of nothing but “New York, New York”, the stunting on KKRG gave way to a mix of mostly obscure Oldies centered in the 1960s. The music includes nothing but cold segues between songs. Still no word when the stunting will end or what’s next for the station.
Original Report 2/21: A change is on the way to Univision Spanish Rhythmic “La Kalle 101.3” KKRG Albuquerque.
The station is stunting with a loop of Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” taking it as far away from its previous format as possible. No word yet on what will follow when the stunting stops. KKRG registered a 1.4 share in the Fall 2013 Nielsen ratings.
“Start Spreading The News”. Maybe a news/talk station??
Or a Variety Hits format called “Frank”??
I thought of more as “… I’m leaving today …” talking about their old format..
Notice that they didn’t blow up the Facebook until today. But they didn’t respond to the confused listeners, either.
And the airstaff isn’t responding to the questions on their personal pages either. They did erase a few autoposts for a promotional giveaway that went up over the weekend.
Actually its Yo 101.3 FM, here’s their new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/yo1013jams
