Following the grant of a CP to relocate into Des Moines, Saga Communications has acquired 93.9 K230AT Winterset, IA from First Ventures Capital Partners for $87,500. The translator will operate with 250 watts at 107.3 meters once it builds its new facility. It is currently licensed to rebroadcast Clear Channel’s 1040 WHO Des Moines, but that will likely change once the sale is consummated.
E-String Wireless has agreed to sell the CP for 102.3 K272FK College Station, TX to Brazos Valley Communications for $95,000. Brazos intends to rebroadcast Regional Mexican “Radio Alegria” 1240 KTAM Bryan on the 250 watt signal.
Weston McCarron has exercised his option to purchase 106.7 K294CM Riverside, CA for $10 from Charles Crawford. The translator CP is licensed to operate with 250 watts at -49.7 meters though we wonder how CBS’ 106.7 KROQ Los Angeles will feel about having a co-channel signal so close to its contours.
Logos Broadcasting has sold 89.9 K210AD Santa Barbara to Southern California Public Radio for $75,000. SCPR will rebroadcast their KPCC Los Angeles programming via 90.3 KVLA-FM Coachella.
In the Atlanta suburbs, the CP for 99.3 257DF Dallas, GA has applied and quickly been granted a move to a tower site in Douglasville where it will operate with 130 watts at 138 meters. The translator intends to simulcast Urban “Streetz 94.5” W233BF via WSTR-HD3.
“CBS Sports 810” WRSO Orlovista, FL intends to relocate two translator CP’s to create a network of FM signals in the Orlando area. Tutera, who also owns WRSO appeals that he needs the move to compete with the large clusters, but also emphasizes the programming he provides which the FCC does not take into account of facility changes.
