Great Eastern Radio will launch AAA “106.7 The River” W294AB Hanover/106.1 WHDQ-HD2 Claremont, NH on Friday, March 14 at 12:00pm.
The 100 watt translator will serve an area along the New Hampshire/Vermont border including the towns of Lebanon, Hanover, Hartford, Norwich, and Woodstock.
Great Eastern Radio, LLC of New Hampshire and Vermont today announced an all new radio station serving the Upper Valley of NH and VT, “106-7 The River”, which will be launching Friday (March 14th) at noon. “The River” will be a AAA-formatted radio station (Adult Album Alternative) whose focus will be the Hanover-Lebanon-Norwich-Woodstock listening area. Listeners will also be able to stream the station online at river1067.com.
“This is a very exciting time for radio in the Upper Valley,” said Great Eastern Radio VP of Programming Justin Tyler. “After evaluating the entire media landscape in the Lebanon-Hanover market, we came to the conclusion that a locally focused AAA station that cares about our immediate listening area instead of a market 100 miles away would be the best thing to do for the community.”
Listeners of 106-7 The River will be able to hear a much larger than usual playlist, and a variety of music not heard on any other station in the Upper Valley. Core artists for the station will include U2, Imagine Dragons, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Sheryl Crow, amongst a list of 600 artists that will be heard on the station. The station will also cover local events and businesses in Hanover, Lebanon, Norwich, Plainfield, and all points in between.
“Our focus is to bring great local radio to our listeners and advertisers, as well as delivering a format that each demographic will be able to find value in,” continues Tyler. “The listeners of the AAA format are extremely loyal and dedicated to the format and the personalities that are part of it. This new station enables us to give listeners a new choice they can believe in and to invest in a format that we are deeply committed to.” An on-air lineup of personalities will be announced in the next few weeks.
