A small Class D FM in New York City is seeking a new dial position.
City College of New York’s 90.3 WHCR-FM New York is seeking to relocate to 91.9 in an attempt to find a signal with less interference. With its entire 60dBu coverage area within the 40dBu of WHPC Garden City, WHCR-FM has trouble being heard within a kilometer of the station’s antenna. If approved, which would also require the dismissal of two pending translator applications, WHCR would continue to operate with its current 8 watts at 81 meters.
Cesar Guel has been under close scrutiny for a series of LPFM applications. While many of those have been dismissed or are in the process of being modified, Guel’s Hispanic Christian Community Network is purchasing nine translators in California and Nevada from Eastern Sierra Broadcasting for $40,000. Involved in the sale are: K233CU Stockton, K247BX Grass Valley, K267BO South Lake Tahoe, K271BT South Lake Tahoe, K278CA Folsom, and K282BK Placerville in California and K233CS North Las Vegas, K277CE Fallon, and K277CL Stateline in Nevada.
After nearly three years, the FCC has approved the sale of 91.1 WFCL (formerly WRVU) Nashville to Nashville Public Radio. WRVU Friends And Family had filed petitions to deny the sale and the station’s license renewal.
L&L Broadcasting has purchased 98.1 W251BQ Peoria from Radio Assist Ministry for $45,000. L&L will utilize the 160 watt translator to rebroadcast a subchannel of 102.3 WDQX Morton.
Saga Communications is adding two translators near Asheville, NC. Georgia-Carolina Broadcasting has sold 98.1 W251BW Clyde and 105.5 W288CQ Waynesville to Saga for $100,000.
Midwest Communications has filed to purchase the CP of 92.1 W221DA Howard, WI from David Stout for $65,000. The 250 watt translator will be used to bring Sports 1440 WNFL Green Bay to the FM band.
Texarkana Radio Center will purchase 98.5 K253BO Nashville, AR from First Ventures Capital Partners for $40,000. The 250 watt translator will rebroadcast Classic Hits 940 KTFS Texarkana.
Circuitwerkes seeks to relocate its CP for 92.9 W225CA West Palm Beach to 92.5 with an increase from 99 to 245 watts. The application replaces 106.7 WXXL Tavares/Orlando with 1380 WWRF Lake Worth as its originating station.
Nantucket Public Radio’s 100.7 W264BA Harwich Port, MA seeks to move to 100.5 with 250 watts rebroadcasting Codcomm’s 102.9 WPXC Hyannis.
