Most of the applications of note this week were in regards to translators seeking upgrades.
Apex Broadcasting is seeking an upgrade of Variety Hits “SC 103.1” WVSC Parris Island, SC from a Class C3 with 11kW at 114.9 meters to a C2 with 50kW at 150 meters. The application also requests the city of license change to Port Royal as Parris Island was absorbed into Port Royal in 2002.
After completing its move from 106.5 in Clinton, MO to 106.9 Harrisonville, MO, K295CH seeks to move again to Kansas City where it will operate with 250 watts at 281 meters. The translator would rebroadcast Union Broadcasting’s Sports/Talk “ESPN 1510” KCTE Independence.
On the other side of Missouri, Kaspar Broadcasting’s CP for 102.1 K271CB Saint Peters has applied to shift to 101.5 with 250 watts at 139 meters. The translator, which will serve the northwestern suburbs of St. Louis will rebroadcast a subchannel of Radio-One’s 104.1 WHHL Hazelwood.
Educational Media Foundation has applied to increase 99.3 W257CU Columbus, OH from 43 watts to 85 watts while remaining at 241.9 meters. The translator will continue to air EMF’s Air1 via Clear Channel’s 93.3 WODC-HD3.
Edgewater Broadcasting has amended its application for 99.1 W256CL Park Forest, IL to operate with 215 watts at 63 meters. Instead of Clear Channel’s 1390 WGRB, the translator will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 93.9 WLIT Chicago.
University of Northwestern-St. Paul has applied to move its CP for 104.7 W284CK Fort Myers, FL to 104.3 with 250 watts at 104 meters. An HD subchannel of Clear Channel’s 95.3 WOLZ remains the originating station.
Brent Epperson’s 94.1 W231CE Lynchburg, VA seeks an increase from 10 to 250 watts.
