Station Moves
Georgia State University’s “Album 88.5” WRAS Atlanta is again attempting to move its transmission site from the southeast side of the city to downtown. The proposed tower site is used by a few translators as well as auxiliary sites for WUBL, WWPW, WWWQ, and WNNX. WRAS seeks to operate with 50kW at 318 meters.
Clear Channel seeks to move two of its Dallas market signals to their auxiliary antenna permanently. 102.1 KDGE Fort Worth-Dallas and 102.9 KDMX Dallas will remain in the Cedar Hill area with 100kW while increasing their height from 485 to 535 meters above average terrain.
Educational Media Foundation has completed its move of 102.9 KYSF Bonanza/Klamath Falls, OR to 97.5 and now seeks to increase the station from a C3 to C2. The station will increase from 460 watts at 644 meters to 550 watts at 670 meters.
In the Texas Hill Country northwest of Austin, 96.3 KAJZ Llano, TX is currently silent while finishing its move to 106.5. It too is seeking a second step to increase power from its new frequency. In this case KAJZ seeks to increase from a Class A with 1.94kW to a C3 with 7kW while remaining on the same tower with at 174.7 meters.
Translator Moves
Educational Media Foundation’s 106.3 W292DH Uniontown, PA has applied to relocate to Pittsburgh where it will rebroadcast Clear Channel Sports “ESPN 970” WBGG. W292DH will operate with 250 watts at 181 meters.
Following the FCC approval of its purchase of 103.5 K278CC Terrell Wells, TX, San Antonio Radio Works has applied to relocate it to downtown San Antonio on 103.3. The signal will operate with 185 watts at 177 meters from the tower of 102.7 KJKX rebroadcasting Gospel 1480 KCHL San Antonio.
Just north of St. Petersburg, Reach Communication’s 89.3 W207BU Bayonet Point, FL has amended its CP to relocate to 99.9 instead of 100.1. Its new facility will see it rebroadcast an HD subchannel of Clear Channel’s 97.9 WXTB with 250 watts at 327.7 meters.
Sarkes Tarzian’s 95.9 W240AT Bloomington, IN has filed to increase power from 78 to 150 watts while remaining at its current height of 90 meters. The translator, while continuing to rebroadcast sister News/Talk 1370 WGCL, will slide over to 96.1.
Miller Communications applied to move 97.3 W247BN Kingstree, SC to Lake City. If approved, W247BN will operate with 180 watts at 96 meters rebroadcasting 1310 WDKD Kingstree.
Georgia-Carolina Radiocasting seeks to move their CP for 99.5 W258CC Athens, GA further away from Athens northeast towards Royston. The application seeks a move to 99.7 with 250 watts rebroadcasting Christian AC 90.9 WRAF Toccoa Falls.
Gerald Benavides is relocating two of his translators in Corpus Christi. The CP for 93.1 K226CF Aransas Pass will move to Corpus Christi proper with 105 watts at 127 meters rebroadcasting Tejano 1510 KROB Robstown. 105.9 K290CK Rockport will move to the same tower with 150 watts at 127 meters rebroadcasting Regional Mexican “La Ley 106.9” KMZZ Bishop.
Translator Sales
Adams Radio rounds out its new Fort Wayne cluster with 96.9 W245CA Fort Wayne. Calvary Radio Network, which previously swapped 103.3 W277AK Fort Wayne for 102.9 WGL-FM, will sell the translator to Adams for $50,000. Adams will utilize W245CA to rebroadcast 1450 WLYV.
Ken Brentlinger and Michael Mallace’s Happy Dog Communications have acquired the Construction Permit for 107.9 K300CI Flagstaff, AZ from Radio Assist Ministry for $45,000. The translator will have a strong signal in the market with 250 watts at 532 meters. The principles in the acquiring company are involved in Sierra H Broadcasting, which owns Phoenix rimshots Urban “101.1 The Beat” KNRJ Cordes Lakes and Rhythmic Oldies “Mega 104.3” KAJM Camp Verde
Comtek LLC. has agreed to sell 99.1 W256CD Talladega, AL to Shelby Broadcast Associates for $15,561. The translator holds a CP to relocate to Fultondale, AL with an increase to 250 watts at 322.1 meters rebroadcasting Summit Media’s Gospel “Heaven 610” WAGG Birmingham with full coverage of the city
