Southern California Public Radio, operators of 89.3 KPCC Pasadena/Los Angeles has acquired Christian AC “K-Life” 89.5 KLFH Ojai for $800,000.
The seller is Logos Broadcasting Company, who continue to own the originating station of the “K-Life” format: 89.3 KLFF San Luis Obispo and 89.9 K210AD Santa Barbara. The acquisition of KLFH will give KPCC a stronger signal in the Oxnard/Ventura market than 94.3 K232EW, the 7 watt translator that SCPR holds a CP for.
The acquisition comes amidst SCPR’s fellow public operators growing in Oxnard and adjacent Santa Barbara. 89.9 KCRW and 91.5 KUSC recently teamed for a deal which will see KUSC move its Santa Barbara simulcast to 93.7 KDB and allow KCRW to take over 88.7 KQSC.
