Federated Media has sold another one of its stations in its South Bend, IN cluster.
1290 WNIL Niles, MI, which currently simulcasts “ESPN 95.7” WAOR Nappanee has been sold to Marion R. Williams for $225,000. Williams owns Rhythmic CHR “Smokin’ 99.1” WSMK Buchanon, MI in the South Bend market.
This is the second sale of a South Bend market station for Federated in less than a week. Last Wednesday the company sold 95.7 WAOR to to St. Joseph Catholic Radio Group for $925,000. This second sales leaves Federated with News/Talk “95.3 MNC” 1340 WTRC Elkhart/95.3 WTRC-FM Niles, MI, Country “B100” 100.7 WBYT Elkhart, and Rock “103.9 The Bear” WRBR South Bend in the market. The question now becomes whether Federated keeps divesting stations in South Bend or is clearing room for an acquisition.
WNIL operates with 500 watts daytime and 40 watts nighttime.
